"I wanted to make this great experience a little bit different," he said in August. "And I wanted to get there sooner rather than later. I was thinking of looking at these guys and seeing whether either of those guys could do this in different ways. It would probably be fun to try out."
With his inspiration at the helm, he turned his work around. The last few years have seen him take this approach and make it his own — not on a daily basis. But with this new project, and a few other ideas that have a better chance of landing, what he doesn't have is an artist partner to guide his creative process with.
"I don't have anything to work with, but as soon as we're working a few different things out together and start getting things working, that'll be it," he said of his next project. "I'll be ready to send it out next year and then take those opportunities. As a result of that and how I want to be able to do this, I think we'll be more satisfied and happy and it'll be more fun for me."
